Example Move: Full Packing Service for a 3-Bedroom Home in West Bradenton
This is an example, not a real customer. The family, dates and details below are made up to show how a move with a full packing service works. Prices are published averages, not a quote from any mover. Photos on this page are stock images, not the crew or home in this example. Bradenton Mover Line does not perform moves.
Packing a house you’ve lived in for 30 years is the hardest part of the move. This example follows one couple who paid a crew to box everything, from the crystal to the garage. Call +1 (941) 392-6022. Bradenton Mover Line connects you with an independent mover that can pack and move your own home.

Who Is Moving in This Example?
A retired couple we’ll call “the Patels.” They’re leaving a 1964 ranch house in Palma Sola for a 2-bedroom villa in Parrish, about 20 miles away. They’re bringing about two thirds of their furniture. The move is on a Wednesday in mid-March, with packing the day before.
| Detail | Old home | New home |
|---|---|---|
| Place | Palma Sola, West Bradenton | Parrish |
| Type | 3-bedroom ranch, built 1964 | 2-bedroom villa, built 2025 |
| Tricky parts | Narrow halls, terrazzo floors, a carport | Fewer rooms, so less furniture fits |
Why Did They Choose a Full Packing Service?
Three reasons, and they’re common ones.
The glass. Mrs. Patel owns two sets of wedding crystal and a cabinet of china. Packing for a kitchen like that is slow, careful work.
Their backs. Bending over boxes for two weeks was not something either of them wanted to do.
The liability. Movers mark boxes you pack yourself “PBO,” short for packed by owner. If a PBO box arrives undamaged with a broken glass inside, the claim is hard to win. Boxes the crew packs put that responsibility on the mover.
Before booking, they gave family a month to claim items and sent the rest to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore on 15th Street East. That cut the job by a full room.
What Happened Before Packing Day?
- Seven weeks out: they called +1 (941) 392-6022, were connected with a mover and asked for packing plus the move. They called two other movers on their own. The Florida Attorney General advises comparing three.
- Six weeks out: each mover walked the house in person. The Patels pointed out the crystal, the 30-inch hallway doors and the carport, which a box truck can’t fit under.
- Five weeks out: each mover gave a signed, itemized written estimate, as Florida Statute 507.05 requires. Packing labor, materials and the move were on separate lines.
- Four weeks out: they looked up each mover’s state registration on our verify a mover page, read the valuation terms and booked one. The deposit went on a credit card.
- One week out: they set aside a “do not pack” closet for medicine, papers, jewelry and a week of clothes.
How Did Packing Day Go?

Three packers arrived at 8 a.m. with boxes, paper, bubble wrap and tape. They built boxes on the living room floor and started in the kitchen, the slowest room in the house.

Each crystal glass was wrapped on its own and stood upright in a cell box marked “GLASS” and “THIS SIDE UP.” Plates went in on their edges, not flat. Heavy things like books went into medium 3.0 cubic foot boxes. Lighter things like linens and pillows went into large 4.5 cubic foot boxes.

Every box got a room name and a number. The crew lead kept a written list, so “Kitchen 14” meant the same thing at both ends.
HomeAdvisor gives 6 to 12 hours to pack a home with 3 or more bedrooms, plus 1 to 2 hours for fragile items. The Patels’ job took about 10 hours and filled 92 boxes. Angi counts 80 to 120 boxes for a 3-bedroom house, so that’s about normal.
What Would a Move Like This Cost?

These are published averages, not quotes:
| Item | Average | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Typical 3-bedroom move in Bradenton | About $2,194 | moveBuddha, September 2026 |
| Packing only, 3-bedroom home | $1,030 to $2,200 | HomeAdvisor, national |
| Packing materials, most homes | $180 to $750 | HomeAdvisor, national |
Adding the packing range to the moving average gives a rough planning figure of about $3,200 to $4,400. A kitchen with lots of glass sits near the high end. Bringing less furniture pulls the moving side down.
Your real price comes only from the mover’s written estimate. See moving cost in Bradenton for the full breakdown.
How Did Move Day Go?

The truck parked on the street, since it was too tall for the carport. The crew laid runners over the terrazzo and took the bed frames apart to clear the narrow hall. Loading took about four hours. The Patels drove the “do not pack” items to Parrish in their own car.
At the villa, the crew placed each numbered box in the room written on it. The Patels checked the crystal boxes first. One wine glass had a chipped rim. They wrote it on the delivery papers before signing, kept the box and wrapping, took photos and filed a written claim with the mover.
What Can You Learn From This Example?

- Sort before the packers come. You pay to box everything they touch.
- Ask for packing as its own line on the written estimate, with labor and materials shown apart.
- Read the valuation terms.Florida law sets the minimum at 60 cents per pound per item. A 1-pound crystal glass is worth 60 cents under that rate unless you buy more coverage.
- Keep a “do not pack” spot. Medicine and papers ride with you.
- Check fragile boxes first and write any damage down before you sign.
